I found Lu Xun's classic collection of Chinese short stories good, and I like Poe, but generally, they just don't have enough meat for me. I'm usually unhappy with anything under novella length. When I read fiction I want to get lost in it, not have it end just as I lose focus on the rest of the world. Just my two cents I generally dislike short stories.
