I caught a cold last week. Even before I realized that I was getting sick, I was very fatigued and had difficulty getting out of bed to write. So much for being ahead of schedule on the 100 page dash. However, yesterday I discovered that I have less to do than I’d thought. I found the publisher’s submission formatting guidelines online. (I’d looked before and somehow didn’t find them.) The guidelines specify that manuscripts should be in Courier New. I’d been using Times New Roman. As any college student can tell you, Courier takes up much more space than Times. When I switched the font, 75 pages became 90. As a result, I’m almost done with the 2nd draft. I hope to finish it by mid-week. I plan to spend two weeks polishing the manuscript before I send it off.
